MANILA, Philippines — Some parts of the country will experience moderate to intense rainfall from Thursday evening (November 28) to Sunday (December 1) due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and shear line, the state weather bureau said on Thursday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) previously said that a shear line would occur when the northeast monsoon or “amihan” converges with easterlies or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

Thursday to Friday afternoon Moderate to heavy rainfall (50-100 millimeters of rain) Eastern Samar Southern Leyte Dinagat Islands Surigao del Norte Surigao del Sur Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon Heavy to intense rainfall (100-200 mm) Camarines Sur Albay Moderate to heavy rainfall Aurora Quezon Eastern Samar Southern Leyte Dinagat Islands Surigao del Sur Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon Heavy to intense rainfall Camarines Sur Albay Catanduanes Moderate to heavy rainfall Quezon Camarines Norte Sorsogon Northern Samar Eastern SamarPagasa warned of possible impacts of the rainfall where moderate to heavy rainfall may bring localized flooding mainly in urbanized, low-lying and coastal areas while landslides are likely in highly susceptible areas.

Most parts of Luzon will experience the surge of northeast monsoon while rains are likely in most parts of Mindanao and Visayas due to the ITCZ.
