Star Cinema drew laughter and tears among viewers after the release of the official teaser of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry and Vice Ganda-starrer “And The Breadwinner Is…”
The teaser begins with comedians Vice Ganda and Lassy happily discussing their contracts as Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), as seen on the film production’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Article continues after this advertisement“This is how our life is here—no guarantee. But don’t give up,” Vice Ganda says in the voiceover as clips of him working tirelessly at a pastry shop abroad flash.

The succeeding scene shows the comedian flying home to the Philippines without informing his family. Much to his surprise, he is welcomed by the facade of their old house—far from what he saw from his video calls with his brother.

Helmed by award-winning director Jun Lana, “And The Breadwinner Is…” will premiere in local cinemas on Dec. 25.
